can anyone tell me what's going on here?

this is a kit from Moh with a microboost set to max 1050mA i think, but he said he didn't have a test load on hand and was almost positive it was set to max becasue he fried the LED in his video in about ten seconds, this is the laser kit from his auction in the for sale thread about a week ago, and i don't know what is going on? i put a 445 diode in it got it all together, and it goes VERY bright like it's about 1W like it should be, then dim. it does this every time

Looks to me like either the driver is busted, or your battery is dead/insufficient.

its wrapped up in thermal tape very tight and very secured inside the heatsink of the host, i cant get it out of there its taped inside the heatsink right behind where the aixiz/diode goes... im putting pics up now give me a minute/.

sorry if pics are unclear or crappy. my camera sucks for focus

all you can see is the driver and wires wrapped up together in thermal tape, and i cannot get it out of there i have tried and it wont budge.

EDIT, i deleted allt he crap photos, in these two you can see all I can

I would suggest connecting your DMM in Amp mode between the battery and host or however you can to check current draw of the driver. Then you can see what's happing, and maybe we'll get more insight.

Yes you'll need a DMM eventually. A test load would be nice as well to test the driver output. It could be a diode issue idk maybe. Need more information, sorry we can't be much help atm.

I know you tried new batteries, but it still seems to be a low current issue or low voltage. what size battery are you using?

Were the components taken of the original driver for the flashlight ??? That could have something to do with it ???

yeah all the components were taken off.. it looks like everything should be fine, just seems like the driver is only given 1050mA for half a second then dropping down to almost nothing

DTR I'm not sure how these drivers remember where they are set. But could this driver have been set so close to the max that it somehow also flips back to the minimum current where it was set in the method used. Would it be possible to remove it or at least set it up to a test load and reset it properly?? Just a thought!

No, the drivers are set with a potentiometer.
I got a dud a while back but mine was a different deal.
Could it be a poor quality switch?
DX carries CHEAP replacements but some of them are not rated for much current.
Good luck on this one bro, I hate when something like this stops working :(

Try hooking it up outside the host to eliminate the host. If you can, desolder the wires from the pill and hook it up straight from batt to driver to LD and see if it drops still. Keep the LD in the H/Sink tho
