Help With Finding Parts For Laser Build

I have recently decided that i want to build a laser pointer and have been looking around for some (mainly a decent diode as other parts are more common), I came across a few high power diodes on ebay being 1.4-1.6W but I have a few questions about the construction of the laser.

As mentioned i found a few diodes that are 1.4W and I couldn't work out how much power would be required to power such a diode and whether the driver and module I had found would be suitable for it.

Your help will be much appreciated and I would like to further ask for suggestions on parts to build a laser, I would like the output to be around 800mw but higher is fine however I only have a budget of around 30-40 GBP so I am looking for something cheap that will have a decently visible laser and have the ability to etch plastic or light a match.

Thanks in advance,
Jake

Parts:
1.4W Blue Diode - 5.6mm TO18 OSRAM 445nm 450nm Blue Laser Diode LD PLTB450 PL-TB450 1.4w 1400mw | eBay

Laser Driver - 445nm 447nm 450nm 1w 1.4w Laser Diode Driver/Power Supply Driver 3.7V 9x20mm | eBay

Laser Module - 650nm 5mW laser module.3.2V 12x30mm kip kay project | eBay

You can buy the module with the diode and driver you want already in place an ready to go - just hook up power.

Edit: your budget is a little strict. You also need to budget ~$40 or so for a proper set of laser safety glasses. A module/diode/driver that'll do what you want will already eat up most of your budget.
