green laser pot mod help!?

Hi all , first of all sorry for my english. i'm from europe

i got myself for 20$ a chinese JD-303 laser pointer.

i opened it up , and played with the pot meter.

when i turn it up to lets say 100% the laser wont work , i only see inside the diod 1 little dot a red one , at 150% i see 2 dots green and red..

i found the maximum working level at like 80% but the laser beam is really bright for like 1 second and then very low.. the safe level is 60% when the beam remains at normal light.

now , please give me a link to some tut , to make the laser work at 80%level without go down after 1 sec.

again , sry for my very very bad english

i could not find this problem in the help section.

I hope you are looking into the Laser with Laser Safety Goggles....
As was mentioned above... read the FAQ about pot modding...

Your Cheap laser is no doubt heating up the Crystals and you
are loosing output. Pot modding will more than likely turn you
Laser into a useless stick....

OMG I thought this thing happens only to me. I've pot modded my laser, too and it's the same thing: i used a screw-driver to adjust the pot. and i set it to max power. Then, it happens the same thing: it stays at full power 1 sec. and then the power decreases.

Omg... NEVER look into a laser if it looks dim/not working.
It can be emitting IR (your case) or there can be some loose connection and BAM! it suddenly starts lasing and your eyes are... (you know what)

BTW if it dims then replace the batteries :) NiMH rechargeables will surely work good :)

yes yes i tried with new batteries ans it stopped loosing power but i thought it was just a coincidence. i hope it will fix with rechargeable batteries. ty for answer.
