if i have a spare Green 5mW Laser and i still wanna do the pot/resistor mod, which resistor should be "fryed"?

this is the back side of the circuit board, on the other side there is an adjustable POT

I DONT CARE IF I BREAK THE LASER!!!!! IT IS A SPARE CUZ I HAVE 2 OTHERS THAT I BOUGHT FOR ASTRONOMY USE........

so if anyone knows what the resistor is labeled, please leave a post, thanks

I don't know about anyone else, but I wouldn't bother unless it had a pot.

I'm not big on hardware electronics, but I sure as hell can't tell just by looking at it.

There is NOT a resistor that you can fry. It will most likely break your laser. The video on youtube you saw is crap. He probably switched the lasers between shots. ::)

It is IMPOSSIBLE to achieve more than 20mW from this pointer unless you gut it and replace everything. If you really want to mod it, do the pot mod ONLY. Cooking a resistor will break your laser!!!

And once the pot mod is done, do not run it for more than ~50 seconds at a time, and give it time to cool or the diode will overheat and die. I would suggest only turning the pot 75% at most. At 100% power it is very likely you will overdrive the diode.
