Its good that you found a working host for your project. By the way, Blue Lasers, how do you have a rep power of three, seeing as you created your account just a few weeks ago?

Neither do I. blue lasers has a rep power of 3, mostly because he has 250 rep points; but in the stats I only see two reps: one from scopeguy20 (with a rep power of 17), one from charliebruce (rep power=6)... where the rest come from is anybodys guess...

The system is simply far too intransparent to be considered "honest".

In case some members don't know or have forgotten......

The Admin.. c0ldshadow... (at his discretion) gives Reputation Points to members
that Donate to the Forum..

He may also give Reputation Points to members that he believes have gone out of
their way to help the Forum Community...

When the Admin gives those arbitrary points... the vBulletin software does not
allow him to add a note to the Rep Points page...

Doing some research... looking into "blue lasers" statistics I see he has made a
donation to the Forum lately...

I would guess that the Admin gave him the points....

I just can't understand why poeple is answering this. Honestly, doing that is what makes others to do the same.

For the godness sake, use the search button, you are literaly asking what a driver is and how to use it, which is answered in 100 threads...

Yes, I see it as a problem that one person can hand out hundreds (or thousands) of rep points at a whim (or for a few dollars donation) and without control or even visibility, something which is completely unrealistic to "earn" by just helping people on the forum (what this rep system is really meant to encourage). It's like the bonuses bank managers are (again) receiving - completely out of relation to actual performance.

But this really doesn't belong in this thread, so I'll stop.

@ dr-ebert.... If you are unhappy about the LPF Reputation system...
perhaps you should take it up with the Administrator of the Forum...
instead of complaining to us...

After all... this Forum belongs to him... and he can run it as he seems fit...

I agree with Dave... I also see it as a benefit....

Momo sorry if I am coming off as rude, and I don't mean to be at all, but you asked "questions just like this" less than a week ago, and now are just passing the answers off as if you knew them for ages.

sorry to come of as rude also.... but this is an irrelevant statement by you. we all learn everything at some point, from some source. un less you are a reseacher doing your own research. so would it make you happy if momo held the information for some arbitrary amount of time before giving it to others?
