Do you think its dead?

Hi,

It used to be a simple build.
You know, a dvd-burner diode, LM317 driver and a good 7.5V power source.

Well, after making the driver (LM317) and the power supply (from PC).
It was time to attach the diode that wass pressed in a Aixiz housing.

My LM317 driver wass tested with dummyload, and gave 248mA.
The diode justs worked, but when i tryed to burn a match, it only made a super small black spot on it.
So i put an other resisitor on, to give it 290mA (again tested with dummyload)

But then, the diode didn't gave any light anymore. :cryyy:
It wass not ledded or something, it just give no light anymore.

What i tried: Other power supply and new driver. Both didn't help.

What do you guys think: Dead, or something else wrong?

You didn't say which LD you used...

How many diodes and what value resistor did you use
on your Dummy Test Load...

Did you short the Driver output just before connecting
your LD...

LD was a Closed can red one.
the resitors i used on the driver: the first one wass 5ohm the second one is 4.3ohm

i used 4 diodes X 0.7 = 2.8V, the resistor is used on dummyload is 1 ohm
yes, i shorted the capasitor 10uF 16V
