diode help

hi can any one help me on how to un soider a laser diode im looking for a vidio but no luck i have 3 of them but scared of burning them up can any one help me find a vidio on how to on soilder a diode thanks guys

More info needed here....what laser diode is it? Has it got a ribbon cable attached?

In general terms you need to grip the body "gently" in a croc clip....to soak heat away and hold it still. Then tin your soldering iron and hold it on the pins of the LD whilst prying "gently" behind the ribbon termination with a toothpick or something similar...it should pop off within a couple of seconds....then blow hard on the ld to cool it

cool thanks yea it has a ribbon on it and ill try it tonight i dident no if i needed any thing to cool it down so it dont get to hot but thanks for the info
