Links checked PMan... and if I was to carry a laser with me all the time I wouldn't want it to stand me at a small fortune... too much to loose.... and extends the life of your favourites too

Thank you all for some good encouraging wise words. Pman, I agree I will change the driver out. I'm kind of weird about my lasers and just knowing one is compromised makes me feel uneasy. I'm going to Flaminpyros shop to have him walk me through my first Kryton build just as soon as the diodes get here from DTR. I will bring my 532 with me to change the driver.
Does anyone know what driver a 532nm 400mW needs? I know 532 dpss are a different animal. I wonder if I can push the driver harder and get more power out of my Crown Upgrade. hmmmm.

I thought all 532 nm's were dpss..... Am I wrong?

No they are. I'm guessing you misunderstood something I wrote. I'm waiting on 520nm diode from DTR to build. I will be bringing my 532 with the damage with me to replace the driver. Maybe that is where the confusion was.

I just took a look at mine and I'm I'm not sure it can be easily taken apart.
Ummmm thinkin we need a mod for the post a few above.

I assume you mean trying to push the laser harder. Your're probably right. I was entertaining this idea because after many back and forth's with Susie at O-like she admitted they under power their lasers so I was wondering if this 400mW 532 dpss module in my laser is the same one as the 500mW version only not set as high.
But yea I will leave well enough alone.

if I understand what I have been told by members like Jordan -the risk of some damage goes up if you try more than once or try too long---I guess the VERY best protection guards for all that BUT most do not and its the function of the reverse poilarity on those for the driver to FAIL and save the more $$ diode.bbAND now I se that there seems to be different levels of 'fail'. Best is 'nothing fails' followed by Reverse polarity fails & from there you do without protection or the worst case all fails and you start over with 'just a host' I have f**ded up two of mine..get and use a sharp tip sharpie.. you WILL find a spot if you try--btw ALL JETLASERS are the SAME-
neg to the front and pos. to the tailcaps.

I will NO longer try to guess-- it can wait till I know..
