A case as in something that the laser is in (a host... eg. flashlight etc)

Or a case for the finished laser. Like a box with foam padding.

If the first, check out http://www.laserpointerforums.com/fo...num=1213338268

If you arent making a blu ray, the host is the same anyway. Also, you can buy great heatsinks from Jay in there, too.

yes a driver would still be needed

a resistor alone will not be good enough

What is the simplest driver i could make that would work I don't want to build one with a uncommon component I would need to buy (I have shelves full of components to use already)? If there is no such thing i can buy a driver.

A simple driver is the DDL Driver, but with common components this driver cannot be made very small. If you want to buy a pre-made driver, a cheap kit similar to the DDL driver can be found here, a tiny driver that can fit in the AixiZ module can be found here, and a tiny boost driver can be found here.
