the writing is so small it wouldnt show up.
this is exactly how it is written on the chip. its a 3 prong transistor in a semicircular shape.

Could be a TO92 5v regulator ( 78L05) .

What kind of circuit is it out of? is it a PSU by any chance?

If you measue the voltage at pin 1 it should be between 5-15v

I'm thinking ped is right.. it's most likely a 78L05 voltage regulator based on the numbers.

i wouldnt say its "typical" , but it is possible.
