We were all once noobs asking the same questions hundreds of times. I've been told to search and so I did. I've learned most stuff about lasers through searching.

500mw of 405nm doesn't care. It will burn almost anything it is aimed at.

Why not just use a lighter? Cheaper and easier. If you are after the wow factor then a flame thrower might fit your needs ;)

It will burn not only paper but also the hair on you a$$. Get one of those flammenwerfers that spews out a jet of fuel not those replicas that use mist instead.
