Hey guys,

So I purchased a 405nm 500mW laser from Lazerer on Sep-19.

Well i received it yesterday in the mail and the laser is extremely dim. It almost looks like it is running on batteries that are basically dead.

My question for you all is, what could this be? Is this something that i'm going to have to dispute with Max and try to get a refund? or is this something that is a common problem and a somewhat quick fix? I was really looking forward to playing with it and this is a big disappointment :(

Edit: I've ensured the batteries are fully charged as well. So batteries are probably not the issue.

What batteries were you using? Can you measure the current draw in you have an ammeter?

I have had a very similar experience, mine was drawing .9A out of the box. (From two cells) Completely fried. I think the drivers they use are poorly assembled and break easy in shipping

Yeah, we can't really know more unless you have a DMM to test the battery voltage and see what your laser is drawing.

You should get one, they are very useful and only 20$.
