Blu-Ray laser help

Yes, I know theirs stickys. I wanted exact things to use for this exact beam.

First off, I'm new to this forums, yay! Anyways. I recently purchased a Blu-Ray laser. The seller sold it along in a case with a focus-nose at the end so u can feel the heat over 30ft away. The problem, No circuit. It's just a diode with pre-connected Blue (plus) and red (minus) wires inside a focus case. ITS ONLY A MODULE not a pen. My question, How do I connect this right, and how can I test that the laser I received, works. I thought i read, connecting a safe voltage raw, will actually damage the diode (for DVD burners) and you are safe with a laser driver. So, Can someone recommend me a safe way to power this?

Diode Package Type: 5.6mm
Max Output: ~150mW CW
Max Current: ~110mA
Lase Threshold: ~31mA
Lase Voltage: ~4 volts
Operating Voltage: ~5 volts
Wavelength: ~407.5nm

I want to power this safely so I don't end up finding it dead in 1 week due to a bad un-safe way to wire it. Don't be afraid to give me more advance circuits. I well should have the parts around besides chips. I got many resistors, diodes, and capacitors. Up to 400v 470uf, and 1000V 6A diodes.

And if someone offered a pre-made circuit, I'd love to have the ability to control its power. I DONT WANT TO OVER POWER IT. like 10-150mw, or 0-150mw, you get my idea. I'm not looking at modding to over power. The seller told me it can do 200mw, but will die faster. and its safe-factory rated 150.

id almost bet you got that off ebay from a dishonest seller if it was cheap. im not sure of the ma needed to make 150mw on a br burner but unless you paid a couple hundred thats probably a phr diode.

Not dishonest. When I tryed a design off isntructables I was able to burn matches no problem works greate for now that is.. Plus I got it since that's the only thing he sold and he has 251 reviews and everyone people rate 5 for everything. Only was $60, I can focus it, and burns very well!

You can get those diodes for about $15 in the B/S/T section and a focusing module for a couple of bucks. The reason why he said the seller was dishonest was because the seller claims the laser to operate at 150mW when fed 110mA. At 110mA you will be getting around 90mW, not 150mW.

Yeah I don't know.  Out of the 241 reviews i didn't see people saying it wasn't a true 150.  Like some people run it 140 for safe, but the seller CLAIMS it can do 200mw, but that's over power.  That's why I wanted a pot option, to range 0-150, that way, i can put it at a lower power maybe around 120 if it burns.  How I always wanted to burn a fly with a laser... :) They also did a test where they burnt things at 135mw at only 95ma of power. Sony burner.
