I have a Sliver (Cree C3) Stainless-Steel Host (can't link to it, sku.11133 on DX). (seems like the host is the connection between battery negative and led)
a PHR diode
a flexdrive v4.

Now I'm a little confused about soldering, just checking if I got it all correct.
Should the negative pin and the "not used" pin on the diode be soldered together?
Should the host be the connection between the battery negative and the diode negative?
And no connection between flexdrive(battery side) negative and battery negative?
Well basically like the picture in the flexdrive manual that I have attached to this post.
On my host the power button is on the back though and I guess it's swtiching the negative connection on and off instead of the positive one like in the picture, does that make any difference?

As long as one of the negative connections on your FlexDrive is making contact to the negative side of you batteries it will work...

The negative connection points on the FlexDrive are continuos. The normal way is to make the connection from the host via a ground wire. But you can also connect the diode case pin and negative case pin together with the wire making the connection to the driver, because in most cases, the diode case is making contact to the host via the heatsink...
