I am building a blu-ray laser and will be using 10440 batteries. I have read here a few places to use 3 of the 3.6 V batteries but i have seen others say the batteries are actually 4.2 V and to only use 2 batteries because 3 would be too much voltage. I don't have the batteries yet to check them out. Can anyone give me a definite answer?

2 batts(3.6-3.7v) should work. most put out more voltage than theyre rated at anyway.

I've measured the [link=http://hightechdealz.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3&products_id=28]brand new UltraFire 10440 batteries[/link] to be only 4V. After a while of use they will drop down to 3.6V that they're rated out. 12V on the Rkcstr driver won't do any damage and you'll have longer run times with 3 batteries rather than 2.

Go with 3.

thanks,
Kendall
