From what Ive heard, the best bet is to go with the 30. A lot have people have stated that the 50 is very underpowered, and a lot of the times the true 30 will be more powerful than the 50. I dont have either laser, so I cant speak from experience. My DX30 was ordered the other day and is in 'packaged' status..hopefully the next status will be shipped and not 'uh oh..contact us for the bad news.' ;D

im not so sure about the 50 mw because the prize is almost the same dx30-24.57$ , dx 50 - 25.80$
but in the comments they say that the 50mw is much brighter than the 30mw

Would the 50 most likely have a higher powered pump diode than the 30? All I want it for is to dismantle it and extract the pump diode.

As I said, I cant speak for personal experience, but Ive heard the 50mw is hit or miss. You may get 40ish mw, you may get 10mw, but it seems that a lot of people that have ordered both recommend the 30 over the 50 for quality reasons.

I guess we'll see in a little bit. Hmm, says the above on one part of the page, but also states the shipment date as 1/8/2008 9:16:36 PM on the same page. I'm hoping it was the latter.
