Advice on mounting a T0-3 Diode in a host!

Did some machining today






Still have to bolt the diode down to the heatsink but its coming along nicely.

So this diode has tec built right into it? I was thinking that when adding tec to a build you would want it as close to the diode as possible. I would also think that some kind of a temperature controler for the tec/diode would be usefull to turn the current up or down to keep the diode at a constant temp.

How did you get a heatsink fit with the switch where it is? take a slice off?

Inside the TO3 is a c-mount diode mounted directly on a tec.

The switch is no where near the heatsink. The switch is a tailcap switch.
