Hey Guys,
I got a 1mw laser off of ebay for a few dollars, Its the highest power Aussie customs will allow through, Anyway, When I opened it up to check out what I had to work with in terms of making it more powerful, There is no pot :'|
So pot modding is out of the question, and even though I took utmost care in taking it out of the housing, only pushing and pulling on a plastic 'sled' that the module is on, there is a mini inductor coil, which seems to have been crushed, and a resistor that has come loose and been disconnected. It DOES still lase though.. So Im guessing they wont be missed...
What I would like to know, Is
1. Can I just replace the diode with one i salvaged from a ps3-sled ?
and
2. How does one focus correctly ?
I had a quick search but I could only find 'use a lens' 'use this lens blah blah'
Im not exactly sure the correct method to do the focusing, Just turn the lens and keep checking ?
Im not really new to lasers, but its my first time working with one, normally due to the difficulty of getting them and money constraints (i have like $10 a week left to myself)
I have only read and researched until now.
I would appreciate any help you guys can give me c:
