What mode does the SLD1239JL-54 run in with a DDL driver?

Right now I am trying to select appropriate safety glasses, but I need to know wether the diode runs in continuous wave or pulse. I am using a Sony SLD1239JL-54 with this driver http://laserpointerforums.com/attac...239jl-54-driver-please-ddl_driver_diagram.jpg except with a 3 ohm resistor. The specs say it can do both, but what exactly determines weather it's in CW or pulse mode?

It is constant wave with that driver unless you do some serious modification.

It doesn't matter. The pulsed output isn't even twice the CW rating. The Eagle Pair from Survival Laser are
the only option under $100. 416mA may be a bit much for that diode.
