I am planning to bulid a high power single mode red laser. I know LPC-826 is famous but if there any other diode have more power?

I think this one is the highest, unless the 250mitts is single mode!

I hear that ML101U29 can hit over 300mW so will it considered the highest powered single mode red laser diode?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm fairly certain that the ML101U29 and LPC-826 (Mentioned above) are the same diode.

But yes, over 300mW is possible with those diodes.

I have LPC-826 that output just over 400mW really pressing them in builds.
I don't think either of the single modes DTR sells will hit that high but they are also 638nm and not 658nm so are much brighter. That 250mW he sells is multimode. Have built both of those single modes into pens and they are really nice (the 120 and 180mW ones).

In terms of power the 826 pretty much is it. They are usually driven around 200 mW, but can be pushed further sometimes.

The oclaro diode has a bit less raw output power, but obviously is a LOT brighter given the difference in wavelegth, so it matters if you mean brightest or most powerful.

Is it being stable at 400mW or just peak at 400mW and then drop?

It's stable but I haven't tried running one that high for longer than 10 seconds. I would not run it there if you were looking for some run time and it's close to its peak before blowing. I can get away with it as the ones I've made peak that high and then start to drop due to the batteries I'm using voltage sagging. That output is with a G2 lens. How long it would last on my variable DC power supply at 400mW is anyone's guess as I don't deliberately try to blow diodes unless someone wants to pay for one for me to do it. They are very inexpensive. You can even get them in the states when the ebay seller has them in stock for about 5 for $30.
My experience is there can be quite the difference between how much per a diode can output from a power supply vs a driver host setup. I can get over 1W everytime I check a bdr-209 no problem with my power supply but good luck doing it as a fully built pointer without it blowing. Looks like Flaminpyro managed to with an s-mini driver and hopefully it will not go LED on him. Haven't tried that particular driver with a 209 yet.

Just literally 2 hours ago I got my package from Pman that he built a defiant pen using this LPC -826 on a 10440. It's with an acrylic lens now but was set at 375mw with a G2. Mind you as of now and only a few minutes of play iv'e instantly lit matches and popped balloons if that helps any. Just give me some more time:)
Let me add this little edit....I was trying to light a stick match I thought I had painted black and all I could do was to get it to smoke...I didn't notice that I had already lit that match and at this point this laser was smoking the wood! how cool is that!
