G'day,

Been meaning to build this one for a while, was just waiting for the driver(s).

I used:
Spyderfire X-07 Stainless Steel flashlight from DX
Orange Body O-rings from DX
Mitsubishi ML520G71 300mW diode from dtr
Copper 5.6mm module from survival lasers
Aixiz 3 Element Glass lens Coated for 637 - 660nm from eBay
Custom made aluminum heatsink from bobhaha
16 mode 1050mA driver from kaidomain
3100mAh Panasonic Battery from eBay

I used this driver because:

1) The Vf of these Mitsubishi diodes are close to or less than the Vf of the LED's they where designed for
2) The fact i have 3 groups of modes to choose from, which is easily changeable.
3) I love strobe modes

The modes go like this:

1) Low / Med / High / Strobe / SOS
2) Low / Med / High
3) Low / Med / High / Strobe / Police Strobe / Slow blink (3Hz) / Slow blink (1Hz) / SOS

I looked at all graphs around for these diodes and saw that below 80~180mA (the threshold current)i should expect not to see any lasing.
With a ammeter in series, my measured currents where:

50mA on Low
365mA on Medium
1049mA on high

With that in mind i installed the driver int the pill, quiet easily, had to file a lil bit off where they clip out of the packs of 5 drivers until it fit snug.

The drivers come with there own leads that you get to solder on, but they are shit pieces of wire, i used that 26 gauge wire instead :)

After installing it all into the host it was time to test the unit.
It lased which was good but, when i gave the tail cap a full click to turn off, it would dim the laser and change mode, which was weird.

I inspected the tail cap and found a 7 ohm resistor in the tail-cap, which gets switched in to dim the LED when it was a flashlight (2 mode).

So after removing the resistor it takes 2 button pushes to turn this laser on, no biggie, can replace the tail switch later on the track.

Any way here is what it looks like:

Power output wit Aixiz glass lens for 635-660nm with 3 modes: 30mW - 200mW - 500mW

Will get a video and beam shots when darkness falls across the land :p

Thanks for looking!

Fiddy.
