I had to turn down the Aixiz module on the lathe just so that the heatsink wouldnt have to be tinfoil thin.

It runs on a 10440 Li-ion. The driver is an Odic Force V2 set at 101mA. The updated version of the driver can be found here.

LM358 Constant Current Driver, 3.5 -5.0V - V2 2011 - Detailed item view - OdicForce Lasers Online Shop

Great micro drivers for an even better price especially if you buy 5 at a time!

The heat sink for this build is tiny but the low power makes it adequate. It is all press fit so I cant take it apart and I forgot to take pictures before I assembled it unfortunately but I converted the host into a positive ground and fit the driver, module and contact spring in the head

If you noticed the rough ring above the threads that actually where I broke the entire threaded section off trying to press the heatsink in... I had to machine a paper thin sleeve and press fit it in the head section and then press fit those threads over it to reattach the threads on straight.

Next to a 250mW LOC. Its amazing how bright it is at only 41mW!

Compared to a 260mW LOC you can see its a bit more orange and amazingly bright for being less than 1/6 as powerful.

Ive got 12X 405nm, 685nm, and a 150mW 532nm builds in the works as well so hopefully I can post those soon.

Nice!
Where did you get the 40mW 635nm diode?

I love my 635nm but it's barely 5mW. It definitely looks more "orange-ish" than 660nm.

I tend towards bigger builds but this one was pretty fun being so small.

I got in on the ebay buy a few months ago and just didnt get to making anything until now. At $20 it was the best buy Ive had in lasers. Wish I had bought a dozen as they are great diodes and at 40mW they are a lot safer than most and because of their higher visibility you can see the beam in dim light.

At 40mW no need for anything bigger...

All my favorites are the ones that fit nicely in
my pocket. The more power the better :eg:

Re: Smallest 635nm Pointer! (I think)

In this build although im sure I could have squeezed up to 80mW out of it I chose low power. I wont be able to replace the diode if I fry it because they dont make them anymore. Also thee diodes raise wavelength quite significantly when over driven to the point of approaching 650nm visually...which would be no fun.

I want to build a mini green but im not sure if 10440 batteries will cut it since its a 150mW module so its easily over 500mW drain on the batteries....any suggestions?

Awesome. I just love Red Builds. They are my favorite.:)

Like the Host too. Never seen it before.:gj:

Hey very nice. I like the compact MXDL host.

I am really liking this color. I finally got all the parts to build my 40mW. I actually used the driver from OdicForce as well since the Aixiz one was too big to fit in my Ehgemus 14650 host. It is set to 95mA and puts out 35mW with an Aixiz glass lens for red.

Im surprised these drivers arnt used more often. I bought 5 of them because you get a significantly lower price if you buy over 3.

I think I got a got a "freak" diode because mine peaks at 42mW set at 100mA through a cheapo stock aixiz plastic lens.
