From what I understand, a dilda can do an OK job of star pointing on a dark night. It's visibility is supposed to be comparable to a 30mw green.

There's reds that can do it, but you won't ever find them advertised as such.

Maybe it's my eyes but I have a hard time seeing red at night. I mean it's there, but I can say a much weaker 405 with much more ease.

It makes sense that you can see the 405 better at night. When you're using scotopic vision, 405 is much more visible than when you're using photopic vision.
