it would be interesting to see the earlier Sony/Senkat diode in comparison there. The ones that were before the 'bad batch'.

True, unfortunately I don't have any and since they aren't currently being sold except on ebay there isn't much point.  If someone has one they want to send, it can be included.
All my diodes are the earlier Sony diodes that Senkat used to sell. I have a lot of them and could send you one for testing DrLava if you PM your address.

In another (stickied) thread I had the idea of making a central place for all these curves. I have lots of curves to share too. I guess we're not the only ones who want to see this happen.

I just extracted a long die open can diode from an LG 22x
& was wondering if it was similar to, or the same as the
one tested on the graph?

I think we will be seeing a lot of these as the price has come down quite
a bit.

the sony -54 diode sure has a jagged line... seems odd.
I'm using that diode in a dilda, and have it set to about 300mw
is it just me or is there no point in going higher because the line is generally flat and i wont get more than 220 out of it?

The two Sony's are both in blue. The dotted blue Sony, is no longer being sold by Stonetek.org

The JL-54 is the one that Senkat stocks and sells now. You will want to set it between 250mA's and 300mA's. (heatsinked)

I agree! This should be a sticky! This thread was way too hard to find when I needed it!
