It's me again the newbie - ok last time I was wondering about mW vs nm as far as burning now I am back with what I hope is my last newbie question before I can graduate from kindergarten and go into first grade lol

Please explain what a pulsar laser is and how it differs from a non pulsar, and how you can tell the difference etc - and thanks for bearing with my dumb questions folks

Pulsar Is a Model name for a red laser that Wicked Lasers sells.

http://www.wickedlasers.com/lasers/Pulsar_Series-56-1.html

From what I have read on them, they only seem to perform well when a Focus Mod is performed on them.
Essentially you tear the entire laser apart..and install an Aixiz fosuable module in the end.

THey cannot be used with AA Lithuim cells as they have no current/voltage regulation and will burn out the Laser diode if used.

I would never reccomend one for purchase...
THere are better deals in the Buy/Sell/Trade section...

Or even better..build your own....!! ;D

Check out SenKats last post in this thread

He has a few lasers available..and you just can't beat that price!!!

If I didn't already have 2 reds..I'd be all over that one!

Hope this helps

Yup, the SenTorch kicks the Pulsars butt. ;D I absolutely love mine. But like Larry noted, you can build your own red using the instructions in the experiment and mods section, and it too will kick the Pulsars butt ;)

Here is MY take on the pulsar -

Not too bad, for a HOMEMADE LASER. There is no regulation in there, and EVERY one that I have made (minus one experiment) has had regulation. All the lasers I have ever built (again, minus that one) can take Lithium primaries and function well - the Pulsar cannot. They use a module similiar to an Aixiz module inside, and an identical lense (Maybe that is why Aixiz keeps selling out of them - they all went to Wicked for the Pulsars !LOL) and a straight, dead on connection to the batteries from the diode and the switch. Wasted money, in my opinion. NOW - if you alreay have one, do a focus mod on it, or send it to me for a focus mod (cheep !) and it iwll improve a hundredfold...just still do not put liths in it !
