Hey all,

I've had this pulsar100 for a week or so, and this is my first laser that doesn't go on a keychain. Anyway, I took some pics the other night, and wound up with some very interesting effects. Granted, I am only using an Olympus C-60 zoom. One of the interesting things in the pictures was the corona. When pointing the camera at the laser (I suspect the camera was in the corona, but next to the beam) created ghostly artifacts. I love to post some pictures, but I need to post some more msgs first.

So far, I've popped balloons from about 10 feet. Matches w/the lens cap.

Pointing the laser at a camera is like pointing it in an eye, it burns out part of it. Are you gonna try focus modding it?

From what I've been reading its common for pulsars to have corona or iris around projected dot. Mine has quite nice one and it does get in the way of camera when shooting picture from the front creating interesting ghostly shapes. I measured parts of corona power to be between 0.04-0.07mW at about 2 inches distance, so I doubt it is harmful for the eye or camera sensor at distances of few feet or more.

here is a picture i took while back. Its Pulsar on the right and 3mW RadioShack model (left). Circle in the middle is just an artifact glow of the two projections.

I've thought about it, I don't have the dexterity to do it myself so I would need to have some help in that matter. I figure I would wait until the waranty is up. I am fairly pleased with this laser, but with no instruments, I have no idea of its true output.

I've read a few posts about lasers and cameras, and agree, it can do some serious damage to the sensors and eyes. I tried to get the camera looking down the lenght of the beam by aligning the laser on the right side of the camera, on the door with it is opened. The dot itself, was not hitting the lens or sensors - I think. The camera still works, no harm there.

Nice pics, the corona effect looks really cool. :D I used to have a pulsar, it was one of the CNI models wicked lasers used to have. Had it for about almost a year and then it just died... :-[
