No duty cycle LCC red

I have a couple of the BDR-S03 sleds and have a question about the LCC diodes in them. Anyone have any idea what current to set the drive at for no-duty-cycle operation for a LCC red? A similar study for PHR's yielded 90mA, just wondering if anyone knows for the LCC red.

I'd like to build a matching laser for my 90mA PHR.

You can probably get away with 250mA if you're using a decent heat sink. For a smaller build such as a pen sized host I would think that maybe 200mA would be good enough for a long cycle... maybe 180 for unlimited. I have never run a LOC or LCC at currents that low, so this is just a guess. Others may have more definitive answers.

Are you asking about unlimited duty cycle or about keeping the lifetime of your diode high?

Unlimited duty cycle, only limited by battery life. The host would be a Jayrob Pocket Mini - small but heatsinked.

An interesting question, Crossfire. I don't remember anyone doing this work before.

I have built many LPC-815 lasers and run most at 200-210ma for a no duty cycle so far none have been returned because the diode blu-up I have a couple running in my heatsinks at 300ma with a 5 min on 1 min off duty cycle and they are still going fine.
