Picked up several Red 16X sleds today.

After a little research, one (KWS-251A) got my attention:

It is a Sony red rated @ 16X.

This diode is soldered fast to a U-shaped heat sink.

I will test the voltage, current and output when I get some free time.

Also got a KWS-272A sled.

I have the suspect that i have a similar one ..... as in the pic .....

Also the IR one is soldered, on a flat plate, and the connector of the PCB looks really similar (have also the same 2 lines green and red drawed on it, LOL)

Never known from where it came, anyway, i have it laying in the box of the "unknown parts from unknown mangled sleds" ( i mangled so much readers and burners, in the past, that literally don't remember :p) ..... if it's the same, glad to know that it's at least a 16X :D

yes, good news indeed! im still workin on that 3.8mm diode mount, im thinking of having someone machine me a Kryton head with the direct 3.8mm press just because. my guy will do it for 30 bucks. i wanna see how bad i can push it in a direct mount heatsinked host.
