Yes the Battery is an Unprotected Trustfire or i have also tried the Unprotected UltraFire brand.They work Great.:beer:
Reason I am asking is:
Using unprotected battery - many buyers who don't know about li-ion chemistry characteristics , will drain your battery below 2V pretty quickly.
What happen next - you will get bunch of complains that you provided crappy battery which cannot charge anymore. You will try to explain, but it will not work.
Go for protected batteries and save some time writing emails > explaining to buyers what happens when they drain batt. below 2V.
Speaking from my /batteries and chargers/ selling experience.

Uhh. The Laser will stop lazing long before 2V so there is no issue there. But thanks for your concern.
I dont just put something together and not test it.
If you search the board you will see that there are a few other laser in the 10440 range that use unprotected batteries and there was not 1 issue.
I also never had that issue with any of my unprotected cells in any of my laser. The laser will usually stop lazing long before that or you will notice a drop in power and brightness.

Or, do like I do and charge your batteries before they even really need to be charged. Lithiums have no memory effect, so if you've been using it for a bit that day, why not throw the batteries in the charger. I even do that with protected cells. When I pick my laser up I like to have full/near full power. Works even better when you have an extra set.

I see that it is a "custom driver", but does that mean it is a "secret" driver? As in, would you mind sharing some information about it? how is anyone supposed to know how long lasting it is?
