I came across this on Rayfoss and seeing that it claims to put out >400 for a $150 i'm thinking about buying it. I tried to use search to find more about about with all sorts of variations and came up wth nothing. I'm hoping one of you guys can help point me to a review, or tell me your experience with one of these.
The laser is available in both black, and silver.

The link to this black one has all the specs and some beam shots.

I personally really like the look of the silver host.

From personal experience with rayfoss my best bet is: Junk. I'd be willing to bet ~250mW average out of one of these.

Though, they may have gotten better in terms of quality, nothing I'd like to spend on again.

Also, they re-use pictures of their 650nm lasers with good beam specs on the ones with bad specs by the looks of it. either that or they took the "good angle" of the beam to make it look tight.

"Dot Shape: Near To Round Dot"
These diodes are closer to "Dot shape: ever expanding line"

They only have one factor of beam divergence on a multi-mode diode, which to me isn't right.

If you want something that puts out >400mW of laser light for <$150 with a nice beam get lazerer's violet (405nm) cyber. It's on sale currently IIRC.

He's talking about the diode inside the laser, ML501P73 500mW diodes can be pushed pretty far

You got that output right out of the box or did you mod it some how?

the diode can be pushed alot, hell the 300mW versions have been pushed passed 500mW. of course you need a decent heatsink and driver to do it.

Given the price of these, I doubt it's the 500mW version in there.

400mW with the 300mW diode though is almost commonplace.

Jeez, interesting spec:

Duty Circle 2 minutes on and 5 seconds off

Guess cycles and circles are very similar things, but improving heatsinking by only 4 percent would have made this laser capable of continous operation :D
