I'm pretty sure that everyone around here will agree that the best mod one can make to their already
cool car is to add lasers.  Not one, not two but 6!  With Strobe lights for simulated gun-fire.

We already have over 520W worth of halogen lights on the front, I want to add lasers.

What do you guys think of this project?  I'm getting these cat-toy lasers in the mail in about a week.  I
don't know much about burning lasers and all the colors seem way too expensive to buy 6 at a time, also
the car is red so it'll go with it.   I drew up the plans and a mock-up of what it'll look like.  Would love your
input. THANKS!

I dont now how visible cat-toy lasers are but i doubt they would appear as bright as the picture above, maybe if you spent $2500 for each laser. :'(
Greens one of the brightest colours we can see and one of the cheapest to purchase pre-made as a hobbiest. If you got say 6 30 or 50mw pen style lasers and found a way to hook them up to an external switch that would look alright, and would prop be visible at night to, atleast when you stand infront of the car. But depending on where you are there could be drama's importing pen style lasers and i dont think people driving around would apprectiate blasts of green laser light in there eyes, but hay it would look good. ;D

Nice idea, but i think if our german police catch me with lasers enlighted on my car the break together laughing, and then it will be expensive.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but...

I don't think it's a good idea to mount lasers to your car.

Nor do I think it's a good idea to use a strobe light.

What is the purpose of this endeavour?

Causing traffic accidents?
Blinding lots of people?
Inducing seizures?

Either way, the only positive I can see, is that it will probably lead to incarceration in no time.

Might as well mount greenie crystals in the barrels of a Gatlight, with a strobe flashlamp mounted in a parabolic reflector in the centre. A small slit in the reflector allows pumping one barrel at a time, and a motor can spin them. That way, you'll blow holes in people's tires and eyeballs, the road, and your own eyes. The YouTube clip might be moderately amusing, at least to those who were watching that tank drive over a residential area.

Sheesh.

I can see the Lasers mounted on a Show Car as a display gimmick... but not
functional while actually driving the vehicle...

Hmm... maybe even on a Show Bike... ::)

I know it's not going to be that bright, but it would show up nice on a foggy day.
It's all for show, won't be driving on the street with these on. I doubt that a cop would find them, they'll be hidden in the bottom of the bumper where fog lights usually go.

Should be lots of fun at car shows and MINI cooper club meets!

Remember that any sort of laser above 5mW should NEVER enter someone's eyes. No matter what color.

As long as you would not be driving it on the road, I would say to go with 6 30mW green lasers. You can get them really cheap from www.ledshoppe.com.

Susie has cheap greens, too.

Those have the added advantage of apparently providing the advertised output power at steady state.

I'm with suiraM. Sounds incredibly irresponsible and dangerous with only one conclusion. Incarceration. Oh sure ya say that you'd only like to use it while it's parked, but it will probably get turned on at some point and time, probably when there's not a soul in sight, thinking that it's "OK" as long as nobody sees it.

Doesn't sound like a good idea to me. Yet, I don't know how many times I've heard someone exclaim when I show them my higher powered lasers. (*input hillbilly voice) "Duh, wouldn't that be sweet if those were mounted to a car!" Why?!?!?!
