Glowtorch is a name that's really Atek, I have one, it's rated at >200mw, however mine puts out 195.7mw consistantly (as measured my Senkat) I purchased mine for $180, they usually retail for $200. AFAIK that's the best $/mw you can get in a handheld. Pops baloons isntantly and lights matches near-instant. nice choice if you know how to handle it. This beam is visible in dimly lit rooms, it's VERY POWERFUL!

ya i have seen that vid, although hooking a diode straight up to batteries will result in a pretty quick death! the least you can do is add a resistor, and a capacitor, or you could build DDL's circuit, which will kep your LD happy for a long time!
