Wow, i think you got ripped off, a 1mw laser pointer shouldnt of cost near that much, Where did you get it from :-?

With those lasers theres really no way to make it brighter, at 40ma it works fine at 45ma it will just die instantly. Unless it was a really high quality one then maybe it would have a pot you can turn i can probably tell by who you bought it from.

WHAT YOU GOT A 1MEGAWATT LASER FOR 17POUNDS??? GOOD DEAL!!!

Assuming red, yes it is possible. Assuming green, yes it is possible. But both methods are not really worth the trouble. Forget about modding that one, see if you can return it and search for better sources.

he saying no its not possible, and the +1 is because he agrees with it.

And i also agree you should see if you can return it and get a better one, you payed way to much for a 1mw red.

Gun --

Seriously -- That is most likely a board mounted chip diode laser with almost no heatsinking. I got a few once for $3.00 USD each hoping for housings, lenses etc. Wrong on all counts.
Having nothing to lose, I started jacking the current to them. They burn out before you can get 5 mW :(
However, If it came with difraction gratings (the little things which draw pictures), save them for the more powerful lasers in your future.
