how cheap can 250/300mW red laser go?
i saw 200mW red laser or a good price, a lot of them.
but when it come to 250^ , the price jumped by like 200-300$
any way that i can get a hand held size 250/300 mW laser for a good price?
or can anyone build one for me?

lol i'll be offering one up for around $40 in a few days.

i've got some spare parts laying around along with a one of the prototypes when i had machined hosts made, so i'm going to throw them together with a long closed can from the GGW 6x sled and sell it cheap...it's be around 250mW @ 400mA

I don't know if Dave is still offering but he has a 245mw red in module with driver, not a complete laser but only 45$. I bought one, just waiting on shipping.
EDIT: His quick and dirty sale is over.

You can buy one of the reds from dealextreme and buy 3.6v CR2's that apparently gets you over 250mw.

One in my sig is excellent plus the lens is easy to clean with a q-tip and then they have a waterproof one I don't know anything about, I believe it uses different batteries. If you want to assure good quality I would order from Susie(o-like) www.0-like.com--product here's some for consideration. Oh btw, check the B/S/T as well. I have gotten a couple steals. Why are you set on red anyways, it gets boring super fast, I never tire of my green or violet. Anyways, the o-like I can almost guarantee are better than the DX one's, plus you get Susie's good service.

better to get a real laser, made by someone known here....BST section...you can get a nice laser for around $75

i heard of red burns stuff faster, and this is going to be my first laser, just to feel the power ::

Mohrenberg, do you have a picture of how the out look of the one you were talking about up there ^^?

Violet seems to burn the best for the price and power but only if you want to go further than a PHR. And yes, the price is still expensive. Maybe you should get a PHR, mine burnt white paper with a glass lens.
