Holy crap, almost a 40% increase! Is there such thing as a freak g1 lens too by any chance:p

^^^ I dont think so. Maybe a Few mW difference between G1 lenses but i dont think a 7% increase.


Hopefully we see many more people get Freak diodes.:wave:

Iam excited to see what i get on my next one.:wave:

All the lenses are very consistent...

They are an expensive, precision optic, and then I custom mount them one at a time.

But for sure that diode that you have (lazeerer), is a very efficient diode. A 'freak' I am guessing. Or your driver is getting by-passed some how, and giving direct current from the supply or something! :thinking:

Either that, or I got a dud...

But I have a feeling that we will be over driving these much more. Probably not as over driven as the 445's, but I have a feeling they are very similar in 'toughness'. Hope so! :)

You Know i dont want that.:)

Naaa, If my driver was giving direct pass from the supply it would have killed the diode. Too much voltage.
Through out the whole thread. I have been adjudicating the currant on the flex drive so i know the driver is fine.:cool:

You mean, 500mW "rated" diodes? Yah, imagine 1W reds. :D

I've had a chat with a buddy of mine yesterday... what if those diodes at Rayfoss are just being sold as surplus from some other manufacturer/reseller, and it's the reason for being that cheap? Which means, they could go really fast and not be restocked if there's no surplus.

I'm just hoping to see a number of those inside some projectors, like XJ-140 ones. If they'd replace the red Fatlight with those diodes, price would drop on both blue and red diodes. Depending on how much of them do they put inside one unit, but still. Price of one red would not go over the price of one blue, I'd imagine.

Anyhow, can't wait for my diode to arrive :p They gave me free FedEx shipping, said it takes 5 to 7 business days. True?
