anyways, you got any idea how to test this driver out

i have a multimeter but no test load driver

i was wondering how i would measure the output of the driver with my DMM

do i connect the batteries and then place my DMM and set it to mA and touch the end of the driver where the diode is suppose to go?

Good video... I just don't agree with not cutting the leads after soldering..

All hand assembled PCBs that Iv'e seen assembled in the over 20 years I've
been in the business... have the part leads soldered then cut.
Of course the proper tool is required... (a Flush Cut Side cutter)
and care must be taken to flush cut at a certain height off the PBC. 8-)

If a board is wave soldered... then the leads are machine cut (very close)
before soldering.

Not my vid though. I suppose he put that in there in case people didn't use the proper tools.

yup thats right. Off topic for anyone looking for a nice cheap soldering iron here is what use http://www.amazon.com/Aoyue-968-Digi...061&sr=8-1
note this is a little much for a lot of people. The nice thing is it has a rework station on it too so you can harvest parts from other electronics [smiley=evil.gif] [smiley=evil.gif]

I use the Meredith 9 to 5.6mm adapter and a small C-clamp.
http://www.mi-lasers.com/cgi-bin/sho...&key=LDA-1
And with the beveled edge you can even press the diode a little past "flush" in a Axiz module
