Yes i read it above, thanx Jerry.

I just want to explain this Lithium label voltage thing to icebong and Jander.

Yeah Daniel....
the last post was meant for "jander6442"....

Daniel... in your post... you highlighted exactly the Batteries I purchased....

This morning I found another battery that could be used and it seems to have
50% to 100% more capacity than the ones I bought.... They are called ER14250...

laserbee be careful... these are PRIMARY batteries, they aren't rechargeable.

# Chemistry: Lithium-thionyl chloride (Li-SOCl2) technology
# Nominal capacity: 1200 mAh
# This battery is not rechargeable. Do not try to recharge.

so you will never get 4V out of them :)

I've finished my Dilda build . Thank you Laserbee for insperation ;) Don't have a way to measure the thing.
When I put some final touches on the thing I'll post pics anyhow the unit has in place now a 4"
copper riser that has been modified :p to house 2 stacks of 3AAA the thing is going to be called the "tool time" laser as all the parts are sourced from ACE true value parts.

I've had several of these and not quite trusting the C123

The duty cycle is about 30 to 40 seconds on 1 min off .

The voltage for the double stacks comes in at 9.3 with brand new batt.

That gave me a a way to source batt. locally and I feel as it is around 230mW or so with the current lens housing. Like some tech data but I'm still learning so I canot provide such Thank you in advanced.

i would buy a dilda. where i must go? at dealextreme is sold at 41 dollars....but i heard people with 150...160...170 mw. is this because they put in 2*cr2 at 3volt?  so. is better to fit in cr2 ----->lithium 15270 ? at 3.6v.?

i THINK the best place to buy the dilda is o-like. they sell it at 46.....so only 5 $ in plus....BUT is incluced 2* cr2 15270 and a charger. and the power is advertised 180~200mW. so i think they "test" these lasers...and is quite impossible to have a laser at 170mw....is right?.......but there is a things to say. if they says 180 to 200mw...WITH cr2 at 3.6 volt....the power SHOULD BE a bit more 200mw... (about 200--->220) and not between 180 and 200. but it is my stupid brain that is so precise and criticism. !

....between 2 or 3 weeks i will do a review for the 100mw DX laser pen. i received the pen about 1 month ago, but it was SO UNDERPOWERED......also with a focused lense i wasn't able to burn NOTHING. the nominal laser 100mw... i think was about 30 or 20mw.... I HOPE that the replacement  will be at least 70 mw! i'm sorry 4 my bad english. the review...i'll make...will be short and with a good number of pics!!!

so... o-like is NOW the best place to buy the dilda?also with a guaranteed 180mw i HOPE.

One can even push the output power higher by soldering a 10 Ohm resistor parallel to the big one marked 6.2 (6.2 Ohm) on the driver board. I have 235mA with the standard 3.0V CR2 fully charged, and after soldering the 10 Ohm resistor it went to 268mA stable, decreasing rapidly from 290mA. I could not raise the current to any higher with any other modifications, even if trying to connect an 1 Ohm resistor parallel, showing the circuit to have its limits. The only possibility is to increase voltage. At 8V there is the desired 300mA present. It would be nice to modify the original friver somehow to achieve the 200mW+ with the 3.0V CR2 batts.

I think the sudden reduction in output is a combination of battery sag and possibly the diode getting hot...I know as a diode heats up it puts out fewer mw's. Which is why I love my TEC cooled labby...lol

Anyway would a flex drive fit in one of these? I am not familiar with the dilda as I don't have one but have been reading with interest. It would be really great to know what diode they use in these.

A Flex Drive would easily fit inside the Dilda...
