DX 200mw Red - focusing help

after seeing my dx 200mw red, a mate of mine thought of it as a real bargain so he decided he wanted one too so i ordered him one. this guys a total n00b, he must have had the laser for an hour max until i got a phone call from him saying the focusing ring fell off and he lost a spring lol.
i had a look at it but wasnt able to fix it.
would it be worth it sending it back to dx to replace it as it would cost a fair bit to ship to china from the UK im guessing?
the laser still works perfectly besides, you cant focus in or out and its set a horribly large dot.
any ideas? thanks a bunch.

The spring is absolutely useless... Get yourself some needlenose pliers and get the lens out since it looks like you got it pretty stuck in. Screw the top side into the know TIGHTLY and the screw the entire head back on. It takes some time and practice, but at least you don't have to send it to china.

yea you dont need the spring, just put teflon tape on the threads of the lens instead... but you need to unscrew the lens from the body of the laser, and screw it back into the head
