How does the color compare to your cheap pens? Are they about the same, or is the one you got more orangish looking?

After shining them around both for a bit, I must admit that I can't distinguish the colors
from each other. :(
Of course the difference in power makes it difficult to judge objectively.
I don't think it's even worth posting pics at this point, even the camera sees no difference,
but then again, it's not a proper camera where you can set everything manually, so that
doesn't count I guess.
Oh, well... *shrugs*

The focalprice counterpart of this laser came in today. It is direct driven, as NiMH batteries yield 80mA, Included alkaline batteries yield 130mA, and Energizer 1.7V lithium batteries yield 150mA. Power is about 80mW (alkaline) and wavelength is...

662nm :(

edit: They also labeled it as "<50mW 532nm"

My red pointer draws 150mA current from two AAA batteries. I also checked it with the DC power supply, the same current.
I think the red pointers from other companies beside DealExtreme are carrying the 660nm diodes. We still need more data from DealExtreme reds.

I just got it in the mail. Mine is definately not 635nm.. Same wavelength as the dilde, and much weaker.. :(

These aren´t good news. Hope that the pens coming are at least up-to spec/overspec!

Hey DJNY,
I saw earlier that you ordered a second one for someone else that was 'maybe interested' in this GB of the "635nm" lasers from DX.

If that forum member doesn't want the laser, reguardless if it is 635 or 660, I'll take it!!!!

Please let me know and if it works out I can sent you the $20.00 for the laser.

Same here, mine arrived today except it seems up to spec, a lot brighter than a cheap 5mW but not as much as a 200mW, obviously not a 635nm.

I wish not to have killed the first i had, im sure it was from the 635's batch :banghead::cryyy:
