I was doing a Google search to find an answer, and had no luck.

What is the usual wattage of those little piece of crap $0.99 red laser pointers you pick up from the dollar store?

Usually about a mW or LESS. They are a chip sized laser with a resistor for a driver.
I won't say kids' toys because no laser is a toy.

i got a cheap 1 dollar (From markets they sell everything cheap ) 1mw green laser manage to get it up to 2.4mw by pot modding it. But with red no luck. Put lithium batts in it. Big disaster :|
