Hi everyone , I just wanted to show off a little project that I made using one of Dave's red LCC diodes that I received today.

The black cap in the back serves as the "switch".

Parts:

1 LCC red diode
1 Aixiz Module
1 Aixiz Glass Lens
1 10180 3.7v battery
1 dustcap

It peaks at about 300mw and stays in the high 260's.

Of course battery life isnt great at all because of the capacity of the 10180.

But it was fun to see it burn like the best of them, Excuse the ugly iphone pics.

Yup I purchased 5 10180's and a nano charger from the UK for a red kenom teenie.

I just put the battery in the aixiz and I was surprised that it fit exactly right. If the cover is removed from the rear of the battery, the laser assembly becomes a twist on / off.

Wow that is incredibly small! Nice work. I can't believe what a little monster that thing is too.

You've got lots of burn marks around your kenometer :)

GJ on the build BTW

That's incredible power for something smaller than most keychain pointers.

Let me get this right....there isn't a current regulator in it...am I right? So the current is regulated by the LD and the Batteries internal resistance! Sweet! Do you know how much current is going through this thing?

Nice small build :) Time to get it Phosphated / Anodized. I'm not sure what kind of material is used in an Aixiz module.

Thanks guys. I'm working on a more reliable switch instead of aluminum in the dustcap :)

@iskor. No unfortunately I don't have the current going to the ld

Well I have another red thats in a Dorcy Jr. Before I killed it by freezing it 2 weeks ago it was running with what seemed to be an unlimited duty cycle without a driver for about a year. It would have gone on , but i put it in the freezer then turned it on before aclimating it and it broke. I replaced the diode yesterday and its working just fine also.

Why, pray, would you freeze a laser?
