I guess it must be a 650 you have then. Under certain conditions the camera will capture a difference bigger than the eye does, especially in underexposed pictures with a bit of ambient light.

I'll try to take some of the actual beams instead of the spots, perhaps its more visible that way.

Ok, got the 635nm 5mW Aixiz modules. Fired one up, compared to the Atlasnova....there is a significant difference. There is no doubt that 635nm IS RED. I don't know, maybe my Aixiz are 630 and the Atlasnova's at 640 and my other reds are 650 because there is a very very faint color difference form the Atlasnova and my three other 650's. (after further analyzation ;D) and a very very faint color difference from the Atlasnova and the Aixiz, but there is a pretty noticeable difference from the Aixiz and the 650's. I'll try to post some pictures...

1st up, beamshots.
635 Atlasnova ----- 635 Aixiz ------ 650 5mW respectively.

My camera isn't the best, as you can tell by the poor quality, but there better then nothing :-[

Yeah, I saw those.  :)

My Camera's well over do for retirement.  ;D

But as you can see, the color difference is ever so slight.  ;D

I just need to bite the bullet and buy a YELLOW DPSS  ;D

Maybe.. or if you just want a big yellow beam, get combining optics and use a red and green laser you already own. Ofcourse it's not the real deal, but considering the price of yellow lasers and our inability to tell pure and combined colors in the red-to-green portion of the spectrum apart, probably worth it.

IMO, they're yellow, but alot of people would call it orange or amber. It's almost identical in color to an LED stoplight's yellow.

Awesome lasers, btw. My favorite color.

BTW, where did you get the hex ffcc00? I used that too before I went with the SAE's amber hex which is slightly different. :)

"yellow" LEDs (depending on who you ask) range from about 585 to 600. Coincidentally, amber LEDs also carry that range.

Most amber LEDs that I've seen have been 594ish nm too. I just wanted to point out the obvious, alot more people here have seen this color than realize it methinks.

Yes, I know it's an "old" thread, but a few of us are currently in the market for a 635 so I wanted to ask if it even makes sense to look at the Atlasnova and if anyone has had first-hand experience with Z-Bolt's 635s... ?

p.s. What are the odds that 631.816 HeNe's will be available in the LP format anytime soon... ? Right, didn't think so  :p

I guess Aixisz is a reliable source of 635 diodes - at least the ones they sell are actually 635 nm, though the results arent really that spectacular at 10 mW or so. They appear brighter than 10 mW of 650, mind you, but the 200+ mW 650's are still way brighter.
