I have not had any experience with this seller or this specific module. However, in the description the seller states that the module contains a "long die open can" laser diode and that it is "extracted from [a] new(never used) DVD Burner". Additionally, the seller states that "the ideal use of this open can diode is 250mW CW at 420mA". While I can't confirm it for sure, this description sounds extremely similar to the LPC-815 laser diode. You can buy or build a LPC-815 module for a lot less than the $41 ($36 module + $5 shipping) the Ebay seller is asking. For the most part you will get the same performance out of the LPC-815 diode as you will from the Ebay module.

Otherwise, the seller has a 99.8% feedback rating with over 2000 transactions, so I see nothing wrong with buying the module from him/her.

Hope that helps

LOC, in an aiXiz module, with an acrylic lens, and two wires soldered on. There is no driver. I'll sell you these all day for $30 shipped (and still be making money) ;)

Plus, if you drive this anywhere near 350mW with the lens it comes with you will kill it.

Peace,

dont waste your money on that... that seller is notorious for seriously over driving diodes... thats probably a 180mw diode like the others they sell.

Ok thanks for the heads up guys. 180-200mw 650nm Dilda would probably do just as well for less money.
