Heres the Extracted diode from the side :p
Now i just need to get the 5mw diode out of the housing to put this one in.

That's a short open can. And in case you want to keep the 5mW diode from the module (which I doubt) you can take it out like this: (pic by rog8811)

That looks like it should work great :D. I got 3 of these housings for future projects, so i have 2 more chances to not damage the 5mw diode. But what would it be good for?

That dowel technique worked nicely. Got the other diodes out intact.

Damn, these things are getting really cheap. I just wish they hadn't closed the only compUSA in my state. :'(
