Has anyone tried these?

Mitsubishi Red (660nm) Laser Diode: 200mW CW or 340mW Pulse - Detailed item view - OdicForce Lasers Online Shop

They are apparently rated 200mW CW, while the LPC is rated 150mW CW, so in theory these should be more powerful. Following the same ratio, these should be safe to run at around 300-350mW. They are more expensive than LPC too.
Their ebay site says that they have run these continuously at 250mW for 400 hours without failure.

From the pictures, it looks like a SOC (Short die Open Can), which we have found to be inferior to the LPC-815/LOC diode.
I would ask to see a spec sheet from Mitsubishi before purchasing and over-driving.

That doesn't make sense though.. The SOC has a max power of 200mW, and gets almost no extra output on currents beyond 350mA. (according to some old graphs by DrLava) How then could it be rated 340mW pulsed?

must be a different diode... I am interested now:)

It says max power is 500 mW :)

Where does it say that?
The only place I see that is on the warning label in the product's picture.
That does not mean the diode can produce 500mW of light maxed out.
Everywhere else except the title says 350mW pulsed, which may or may not be Mitsubishi's real rating.

Why is that bad? Also, I was just saying what I see :) Does anyone know if these are just like the LPC sleds?

Cause you can expect a 340mA threshold from an over-1W diode, not from a 300mW diode

(except if it was a typo and the threshold is 34mA ;))

Treshold current is not 350mA, that's operating current. Treshold is 75mA

But that is good, 75mA is higher treshold than LOC (Isn't it?), suggesting that the diode is indeed rated higher.

Wouldnt it be nice is we got the 445 diodes in the other wavelegnths?...I keep dreaming lol

Man you're dumber than a bag of hammers. You have no concept of what these guys are talking about, and you throw in that stupid off topic post when you have nothing more to say. Why dont you read instead of post. Then you'll have a clue, and sound somewhat knowledgeable in your replies instead of a moron.

They are looking for a High power red diode. I said that wouldnt it be nice if we had diodes in similar powers. Its completely relevant. Unlike your childish, (Oh yeah I said it) post.
