i ordered a 150mW red with a built in driver from laser lands and i received the next level down model with a larger driver board outside of the module. the thing is im kind of pissed but i can deal with it because im not gunna wait a month and a half just to get the right model with the same power. im content with this as long as i get my refund back for being shipped the wrong model. but my problem is that i cant figure out what two white and blue leads are for and my computer is kinda screwy so i cant do alot of research right now but im clueless to what these are for. the white is labeled g and the blue is labeled c. i want to plug it in but i want to be cautious because idk if the leads are important. and i couldnt get a straight answer in the first place from i believe its merry so i didnt order this module and driver but i ended up with it. i cant message merry right now but i hope i can get some input.

EDIT: just looked and there the same price but im gunna leave neg feedback for the problem so no refund. ------>http://cgi.ebay.com/Industrial-150m...tem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c10994237

Looks like TTL leads. Give it 5V on the black and red. If it doesn't light, then you will need to put some power to the TTL leads. Usually TTL does NOT require any power to allow the laser to light. Didn't it come with some sort of paperwork?

thanks for answering daguin. no there wasnt any documentation beside on the ebay page its laserlands... i tried to get some answers but i couldnt so i thats why i didnt buy this model and driver. but now i got it soooo im dealing with it. i researched ttl and i found alot of info about modulation and sending a signal over 1Kh to the ttl leads. and that i guess people just apply around 2v to the leads to turn it on. should i be safe just applying 5v to the power leads without the ttl powered?

UPDATE- i powered it up so no worries but i am still wodering about the leads are they used for pulse driving? on the driver board i located a 555 and to my knowledge its just a timer and thats all ive used them for. but i dont see the relation between the leads and the 555 i figured when something was pulse driven it was set at a fixed value unless it was meant to be otherwise.

The TTL leads are used to turn the laser off and on in a scanner, for beam-type shows. If it lights with nothing attached to the TTL leads, just enjoy it.
