120mw 635nm brass laser pointer

I took some scrap parts for my new 635nm laser pointer. This laser uses the opnext 120mw 635nm diode and a flexdrive to support a little under 3 volts.
The batteries used are two radioshack rechargeable triple a's. I'm quite amazed with the power output with two small batteries and a g-2 lens. here are the pics.

nice! I really like pen builds, although it seems there are a lot of people who don't. If you don't mind me asking, where'd you get this particular host?

I just used a buffer machine to get the black silicon layer off of those generic eBay laser pens, it really makes a cool look to it.

Good job man! I am also a fan of the pens, used to have a collection of the ones Jayrob sells that I made into an RGBV set.

I loved them when I first got into lasers a few months ago. Then I realized the higher than 20mw powered ones had horrible duty cycles and decided flashlight hosts with heatsinks that weight more than a whole pen laser is the way to go.

I like my 100% duty cycles

To the OP that thing looks great, whats the max runtime you can get out of it before heat becomes an issue?
