What lens is this?

Can anyone tell from the included pictures what lens is installed into the housing? I have looked high and low and I can not tell is it a 3 element or a G1? Short of taking it apart, can anyone answer?

Yes, that's a DTR barrel for sure. Basically, IMO, that is the best lens and barrel available.

You might want to look into a good internal spring or an external to replace that teflon tape with. With a spring, it never wears out and there is no risk of bits of tape getting on the lens or the diode window.

I tried to put the Survival Lasers extended focus adapter with the external spring on my SH-032. When turned in it unseats the whole heatsink/pill from the inside of the host and I have to retighten it again from the inside...

Really? That sounds like one seriously loose heatsink bro.

That lens looks like it is loose.

It should be firmly attached inside the lens barrel.

Also, the flat plane of the aspheric lens should face the laser diode.

I don't think DTR would have one like that.

It wasn't a loose lens that he mentioned. It was that his heatsink dislodged when he was installing the lens. He was only asking for someone to identify the lens.

If it is a DPSS green laser,

then a G1 or G2 lens is NOT the correct focal length for collimation.

Normally these green lasers use closest to the diode, a diverging lens,

followed by a slightly converging lens.

I highly doubt its a DPSS. I think you missed what was going on LOL. He wanted an identification on the lens and then mentioned how he accidently tweaked a laser installing it.

I can't tell for sure by the picture but it kind of looks like the lens element is upside down in the barrel. Looks like the rounded end may be faced out of the bottom.

When I bought this 445nm SH-032, I was told it had a 3 element Aixiz lens. I noticed this was not the case and started this thread. Maybe these pictures will help...
I'm pretty sure the lens is in the correct way and the bend is just an optical illusion...

Look like the 9mm 445nm original lens in the DTR barrel. The G2 is red coating and the G1 is silver coating. The stoke 9mm look transparent, little coloring amber in the coating, like this one in the picture.
