Looks pretty simular! I'd be putting that lens in some Methanol or Ethanol and if you have it, put the lens into an ultrasonic cleaner. If the spots don't clear up, your lens is toast.
Just to be clear, the laser that I posted showing the bad splash is not mine, it's Ryansoh3's laser.

What if you remove the fungus AND the coating ? As long the glass isn't contaminated it still hold the original shape. The dot will be pristine as new and there will be some loss in power.

Fungus? Thats a new one on me. They are kept wrapped in a paper case inside a plastic bag within a steel cabinet. We also have HEPA 1900 filters on the air system. I indeed have now heard it all...

What is the coating on an A140 diode window made of?
Is this that mold?

Looks like dust to me.

Now everyone is going to think every spot on the lens, or window is mold.

You can clean that dust off with a blast of compressed air or need be , with some methanol..
diode windows are also coated as well. Just not with MgF2

BTW, Thanks for adding constructive comments to this thread T_J...

Not AR coated in general? or with the coating which propagates the fungus?

The concern is specifically the coated optics using MgF2.
Diode windows are NOT coated therefor not a concern.

You're saying diode windows are not coated at all? or not coated with "MgF2."?

Didn't understand your question.
No they (laser diodes) aren't AR coated at all
