Cant wait to see the results!
My use this lens instead of my G2, for a better beam at a longer distance with a 9MM 445..

I'll be testing with g9-g2-3element-aixiz. Should make a wide range of lenses at different power between us.

When I have tons of power, I prefer a 3 element. With that Zaser you have the power to spare for some distance. At that power a 3 elements with burn just as well if not better because of the smaller point.

A good aspheric lens will concentrate more power on that spot for burning.

The spot might be larger, but the optical power is not wasted by SIX optical surfaces it must transmit thru.

The new aspherical G-9 should win the testing.

Good point thanks.
I was just making a point that when you have 3w, loosing a bit of power for a better spot really won't do much to hurt burning. But you are right. Thanks for the correction.

And how is it six optical surfaces? Are you counting the diode window?

3 glass elements x 2 surfaces each = 6 surfaces :)

What about the 2 element 405/445 ? I use these and have found them to be a bit more powerful than the 3 element version but with almost the same dot size. DTR did a comparison on these a couple of years back. O-like use to make them, but I don't see them listed anymore. I have seen them on e bay and Rick Trent has them also.

Actually 2 of the lenses are fused. I just noticed the other day actually that there is a strange spider web pattern in between the 2 fused lenses on my 445nm

I think the laser burned the bonding agent between the lenses

My three element lenses from dtr have a thin lens , a spacer, and a thick lens. Not three lenses.

Edit: ok then the thick one must be the two fused.
